I gave Theo my favorite hat and we set out to enjoy the chilly yet sunny september afternoon. What I like most about Paris is how easily an undecided walk can become a romantic adventure. Unsure of what to do with ourselves we set out for bubble tea, stopping on the way to buy Theo an Eifel Tower golf ball.
Theo is so motivated to walk on his own. I love when he follows alongside holding my finger tightly in his chubby hands taking 4 or 5 steps for each of Michel or my strides. What I like less is when he stops every 2 meters to pick strange things off the city streets. To our horror and the angst of nearby Parisians sipping wine at a sidewalk terrase Theo found a large and thankfully dried dog poo. Even pedestrian streets hold untold dangers when walking with a toddler. Thankfully michel was there to wisk him into a cafe and wash his hands for 20 minutes.
With clean hands and curbed appetites we crossed the river passing in front of Notre Damne which was very well guarded and through the Marche des Fleurs to check out pumpkins. I found a great cut glass candle holder for the apple spice candles we've been burning like mad and Theo liked all the bird houses. We then crossed infront of Shakespeare & co, the worlds coziest bookstore, enjoyed the orange and purple fall flowers in the park next door and settled in the last rays of sun at a little mexican cafe.
